I am a professor in the Civil Engineering Department, within the College of Engineering at Texas A&M University with primary interest in environmental engineering. I am involved with teaching a variety of courses in the Civil Engineering Department including an introduction to engineering, applied numerical methods, introduction to environmental engineering, theory of treatment processes, chemical processes in environmental engineering and remediation of contaminated sites. My research has covered a wide range of topics in treatment of water, wastewater, hazardous wastes and contaminated sites using physical, chemical and biological techniques. Although this research has covered a range of chemical, physical and biological methods, it has maintained a strong focus on innovation.  Novel treatment methods developed in this research include autotrophic denitrification, inorganic oxide adsorbents, rapid haloform formation potential, ultra-high lime softening, ultra-high lime with aluminum treatment, biostrip process, stochastic risk assessment of bioremediation, degradative solidification-stabilization, and advanced reduction processes.
